Like everything else available on the internet at very different prices. However, two main issues to consider when comparing prices of roller banners are the mechanisms and the vinyls used.

To begin with the cheaper banner stand unit, the canister the banner sits in, can be very cheaply made, often from China. These may be great for a real bargain but are unlikely to last more than a few weeks. The mechanism will jam or break. The metal may bend or it just may not work properly. The mechanism is self winding so has to run smoothly or the banner will get caught and tear.
Cassette mechanisms range in quality and can be made of lightweight plastic which breaks easily but are more often made of ‘durable’ and ‘high grade’ ‘silver anodised aluminium.

Secondly, the quality of the vinyl used varies from supplier to supplier. The cheaper economy banner stands are printed on vinyls of 125 microns (thickness) whereas the premium alternatives can use 400 microns and are fire resistant.

The cheap vinyls will curl badly, the colour will fade and being thin they tear or damage easily.

The pull-up roller banner should be laminated to protect from scratches and tears. The inks used should be UV stable so fading will not occur and the graphics should be photo quality.

The cheapest price I’ve seen recently is on special offer for £29.99. The same size banner is also offered at £89.99 from another company, so it is very important to check the specifications.

* Size – standard sizes are 800 x 2000mm. They can be slightly taller and there are several widths available up to around 2metres.
* What material is it printed on?
* Is it laminated?
* Is it guaranteed, and for how long?

Design costs for pull-up roller banners

The cost of actually designing a pull-up roller banner will also vary considerably. A print company who produces the banners in house will often supply the design for free or for a much smaller cost than a graphic designer. A good graphic designer will create a bespoke banner for you and your specific needs. It should match any branding you have existing and communicate exactly what you need it to and to the right people.

A printer who supplies the pull-up roller banner will usually cover the cost for the design work in the banner price. However, generally they will not spend the same amount of time and effort on it’s design as the designer you are paying to create such an important element of your advertising and marketing campaign.

Spending a little more will ensure you you have an eye catching attractive banner which will stand out in a room full of your competitions and get you noticed. It will last longer than the exhibition and you will be proud to use it again and again.
