And being hands on is so rewarding!
I got involved with Swanage Folk Festival to get to know people in the community and because we had so much fun at the event in 2021. I was in my element.
I’d like to share the success we had at Swanage Folk Festival. We sold more tickets for the weekend concerts than ever before and ran out of T-shirts and badges on the first day.
I created a new branding to kick off , amalgamating several ideas from previous years imagery into one consistent attractive design to be used across all media. Designed a variety of merchandise which included key rings, badges, stickers and t-shirts in various sizes and colours. I created large format vinyl banners which were put up around town, using QR codes that successfully worked from a distance and took the viewer straight to the tickets and Eventbrite. Plus info A-boards with event and workshop information for the venues.
The 40 page programme detailed all the events and concerts through out the weekend. Promoted the performers and bands and all the Morris dance sides – of which we had over 60 dancing all weekend and in the Saturday procession. Supporting leaflets and adverts for the “Mad Hatter’ competition, the Ceilidh and Sing-arounds, were distributed and posters put up in shops and visitor centres.
We took the Swanage Folk Festival facebook page from nothing to 3K likes and 3.6k followers from April to September, who are still tagging us now two weeks on.

It was a huge success – and just waiting for the committee meeting to find out how much we made!
